What are foods you hated when you were younger but really enjoy now?

V8 juice is one of mine. And whole tomatoes.

Love both now.

Canteloupe

"love" is a strong word but there are a few I dont mind but there are a few I dont mind eating now

cilantro
watermelon
nuts (only in oatmeal and candybars)

lol, I was sooooo picky as a child. Now, I will try almost anything once.

My father has a west indies background so the food he cooked wasn't your *typical american foods*. However, I would eat the "plain" version of whatever it was he was cooking, and eventually I was eating what he was cooking. So there were tons of foods I wouldn't eat as a child, but now I will try almost anything :)

veggies...i never ate veggies as a kid. only as an adult did i really start to enjoy them. i never ate red meat either as a kid cuz i hated it. i was VERY picky when i was younger. now i'll try new things and enjoy a lot more than i ever did. i was never a big eater.

Asparagus. Love the stuff now....just now the "after smell" The worst is when you change a diaper of a child who had asparagus the night before

On the flip side, I loved seafood as a child and around the age of 10 or 11 it all went out the window. I have to "bury" seafood in other food so that I don't realize it is there or I can't eat it.

LMAO!!! Cruel are the odoriferous diapers!

and unfortunately my son LOVES the stuff...just need to get him out of diapers.

oh, on the opposite side of the original post (hope I don't hijack) but I loved lima beans as a child but can't stand them. Still love me some brussel sprouts

I find the exact opposite is more commonly true. I find that foods I used to love as kid (and even as a teenager) are gross now. It's weird how your taste buds "mature" as you get older. Maybe it's because as we get older, we can afford higher quality food and so when we revist McDonald's, for example, the food seems cheap and disgusting.

brussel sprouts, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, peppers, olives, the list could probably go on for the whole page, I was a picky eater as a kids but eat anything now. And all the foods I listed are now also my favourite foods which is weird.

Grapes.. i'll eat them now.

Growing up in a fat family.. (Dad was 500+ for a loooooong time), food was always around and we were always told "Clean your plate"...well... you get the idea.

I was a good girl and did what i was told... except for fruits

To this day, I will still not eat: pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, oranges, grapefruit or raisins... (especially raisins)

After having kids and seeing these mutant pieces of fruit go in and come back out looking the same... no way in heck am I putting one of those in my body... ICK!!

hehehe

Yeah, I tell my kids to thow it out if they are full......not going to hound them to eat everything. Not worth it.

I can't think of one thing I didn't like as a kid and like now. Problem is I can't think of anything I don't like now either.
