Your eating habit is certainly a reason why you are fat. But, there are some specific food items that increase amount of fats in your body substantially and make you fat. Once you get fat it is very difficult to get back in the shape. You have to put lot of efforts along with the medication for the weight loss. So, instead of this we must try to prevent the excessive weight gain. I assure you that once you control the diet, you will not gain that much weight. Or, you need to avoid certain food items or reduce their intake in order to stay away from the problem of the excessive weight gain. Here is the list of the foods that make you fat, so just stay away from them.

1. Meat: This is the first food item that increases the amount of the fats in the body. Remember if you eat in once in a week then it is healthy, but if you eat in more than 4 times in a week will harm your health. You must try to avoid this food item in order to maintain the body fats and stay away from the excessive weight gain.

2. Cheese: This food item is rich source of the proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Up course proteins are good for the health, but the fats and carbohydrates certainly submerge the effect of the protein. Remember to buy the cheese that is fat free; this would be a better option. Make it a point to avoid eating cheese every day. On alternative days you can have it.

3. Chicken: I know many people love it, but please don’t eat it in excess. This is the source of carbohydrates and cholesterol that makes you fat and harms your heart health. You can eat it but in limited amount. Eating every day is going to put adverse impact on your health. So, just try to it in moderate amount and enjoy the benefits.

4. Milk: Yes intake of milk in many cases is being noted to be the reason of the fatness. You need to understand that excessive intake of milk in not good for the health. You need to take it daily buy in limited amount. Taking it daily twice in a day is not good for the health. The intake of the milk should be kept in adequate amount as it may make you fat.

5. Eggs: Here comes again the most favorite food item of everybody. They have become a staple diet of some people. Remember one egg a day keeps the doctor away is certainly true. But, eating them in excess like 4 or 5 eggs in a day harms your health and nullifies the effect of protein content. You need to keep the intake of eggs in control to avoid excessive weight gain.

6. Chocolates: You need to reduce the intake of the chocolates in order to maintain the body weight. Chocolates are the rich source of fats and carbohydrates. Thus, the weight of the person is being increased by the excessive intake of the chocolates. I do understand that everyone like chocolates, but for the health, we need to cut back the intake of chocolates. You can have 2 chocolates in week, but more than that will lead to adverse effects on health.

7. Ice cream: Favorite dish among the kids and also for adults. Very rarely a person is found who don’t like ice cream. Many people eat it, but when in excess creates the health problems. You need to remember the simple rule that anything in excess harms the health. So, just eat in once in a while to enjoy its taste. But, avoid it taking regularly because it increases the weight of the person very fast.

These are some common foods that increase the weight of the person in excess that ultimately puts the adverse effect on the health of the person.

Sorry, I'm going to really disagree with the tone of the article. You make it sound like at first glance that all these food are bad but the real thing is that none of these foods are bad..the AMOUNTS we tend to eat are. Heck, you can eat enough celery to gain weight (that's a whole lot of celery..). I'm not sure where you got the article from as it mentions the medication you are taking.

And I'm sorry but since when is chicken a source of carbohydrates? Last I heard, chicken isn't a starch. Now, FRIED Chicken is bad. Baked chicken with the fat trimmed off (skinless prefered of course) is great!

An egg a day keeps the doctor away? I swore that was an apple. Eggs themselves isn't going to make you gain a ton of weight..frying them or adding alot of excess items to them will.

I'm not sure about some of the things listed but a better way to put it is this...

"Remember, everything in moderation. A well balanced diet will make a big deal towards weight loss.'

I agree Jericho...I dont' know alot of people that have gained weight eating milk and eggs, lol

lol, I read this as a joke. nobody holding themselves out there in an authoritative way could've written this seriously.

It's almost like no matter the food, they had to mention high carbohydrates.

I'm sorry if you are serious (and to be honest, first post and no introduction has me wondering), but no.

I remember there was someone not terribly long ago here who challenged me suggesting it'd be impossible for me to lose weight eating 3 packs of ramen noodles per day b/c of the carbs and sodium.

Shockingly to them I accepted the challenge and asked to put money on the line via a unaffiliated paypal account and they never returned to the thread.

Hint for all you carbophobes - energy matters. You can't create something out of nothing. And that's not to mean energy is the only concern. It's just that it's the primary concern. No point in jumping the gun shouting out about macronutrient quality/quantity before you set the energy foundation.

The food that you listed hear is no doubt a reason to make you fat so it is always better to avoid these food as, it is always required for every one to have this food but the consumption should be very less.

Thanks!

wow, clueless much? Where are you from? your english is very poor.

Do you believe that if my body needs 3500 calories to maintain itself and that if I eat 2500 calories worth of nothing but the foods listed above, I'll gain weight over time?

If so, can you please explain the mechanisms behind said weight gain? It's confusing to me knowing what we know about physics and energy.

Incorrect mostly. Out of the foods listed above, Most are NOT a reason people are overweight. Cheese? Milk? Eggs? CHICKEN? No. What you are giving is pretty damn wrong. Some of the foods you are right about..Chocolate (but the reasons are wrong..the calorie content is the problem..which is why the amount should be lower) and Ice Cream (same).

I'll be honest. I think you are one of the people who are 'paid' to post on websites.

This is clearly a troll I'm not sure why people even responded with rational arguments as if the OP was worth the time. Should delete this to make sure no noobs see it and take it seriously.

I'm not sure which of the statements were funnier... "Yes intake of milk in many cases is being noted to be the reason of the fatness." Damn THE FATNESS!!!

But learning that chicken "is the source of carbohydrates and cholesterol that makes you fat and harms your heart health." was pretty good too!

If an egg a day keeps the doctor away I may need to be careful, I haven't been getting enough! It's only when you have 4 or 5 a day that it's too many...

Why I didn't treat it like a troll was there was no link for ad or anything. I treated it like someone passing bad information.

except for the last two items, which i can tend to see, mostly for the calorie overload, the rest reads like someone just trying to push a vegetarian/vegan agenda.

actually, I was waiting for the punchline like 'but, drink Dr NoButt's skinny shake and eat as much of this food as you want!'

The original post was definitely a noodle scratcher.

It seemed like a vegan trying to reduce consumption of animal products and bi-products.

It should be said that your food composition is more important than the food itself.

In a weight loss stage, daily calorie composition, for example, should consist of:

50% protien, 30% fat, 20% carbs

Once you've shed the fat, but still building muscle maybe:

40% protien, 25% fat, 35% carbs

and finally at maintenance:

30% protien, 20% fat, 50% carbs

Foods that you should avoid would be ones that are high in trans fat, sodium, or where most of the calories come from refined sugars. Also avoid foods that don't allow you to maintain those caloric compositions.

That's my understanding anyways.

Please delete the troll post

I almost paniced for a minute there and threw away my grilled chicken :cuss:
