Sport food for energy?

Sport Fitness
Hey I got a question. My certification for step is coming up this weekend:eek: and they basically kick your @$$ from 8 to 6 saturday and sunday. What are good snacks to bring to snack on during the day both days? Saturday evening will be a spent at home trying to learn a routine too to teach on sunday...no rest for the weary this weekend. Also Im staying in a hotel, and I wont be checking in until after the first day because they are soo expensive in the DC area. So anything that doesnt need to be refrigerated would be better. I was thinking of bringing my Luna bars, I still have a bunch of those, Whole wheat bread and some PB, canned chicken or tuna, probably some oatmeal and protein powder for breakfast? Any ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Low sodium beef jerky.

One question, you can't refrigerate, but you can cook (the oatmeal)?

Vegetables (brocolli, carrots).

If you're going to be expending lots of energy, you'll need to carb up:

Powdered gatorade or dextrose/maltodextrin.

I would recommend you get some wide mouth thermos and pack one with cottage cheese (chill the container in the fridge 24 hours in advance).

Fruits are a good choice: apples, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, cherries.

Thanks, yeah I will be staying in a hotel overnight, so I will be able to cook oatmeal hopefully. Most places have some sort of microwave. If not I can eat my kashi cereal. I would rather eat oatmeal though, that usually gives me more energy. I didnt think of the gatorade. What about plain gatorade that you can buy in the store, is that the same thing, or is the powdered stuff different? I dont even think we really get a lunch break, per say, just random tiny breaks to power back up again.

oh okay i didnt think about that, i dont usually drink that stuff. I will pick some of the powder up then.
