Flax Oil.

I recently began taking Udo'S Choice Oil Blend.

I was talking with a personal trainer yesterday and suggested that I take flax oil as well.

Do any of take one and/or both? Would taking the flax as well have added benefits or is it overkill?

Be more specific with what you are taking now...what kind of oil is it?

As for flax, it's awesome. Omega-3 fatty acids, and the average person isn't getting enough of those. As for whether it's overkill, well that really boils down to your current eating plan. If it fits in your daily requirements, great!

Flax oil is nice, but I like to get flax seeds, and eat them ground up. That way, you get the fats, and the fiber.

The label says it contains flax oil and when I mentioned this to the trainer he still suggested the flax in addition too.

What are your goals?

If your diet is balance there is no need to add anything beyond this, its plenty. In fact that blend is better than just flax anyway.

My goal is weight loss and improved overall health. I'm trying to drop a lot of weight.

My diet is ok but it could be a lot better. Would using it in addition to the blend be beneficial or a waste?

honestly i'd ditch flaxseed and Udo's for fish oil. Why?

because flaxseed contains Alpha lipoleic acid, which the body can convert into the two omega 3 fatty acids, at a very inefficient rate. 1 gram of flaxseed oil is only about 15-20% effective as 1 gram of fish oil.
what's worse, some people are less efficient at the conversion than 'normal' so they'll get sucktacular results with flaxseed oil.

If you're referring to the UDO's Oil, I take it twice a day as recommended. I'm taking it for the health benefits not cosmetic. I don't have any of the issues you mentioned.
