So i started useing fitday a few weeks ago to try to lose this weight. and so far all was well, went form 306ish to 277. now i'm stuck and it's been this way for about a month. so i looked at the little pie chart on fitday with the %'s of what you'r eating and this is what i got. Fat (45%) Carbs (25%)
Protein (29%) Alcohol (0%)

that was for the full day. i know thats probley really bad but up intill this point i really havent been on a "Diet" i just been looking at calorie's and keeping them right around 2100 with about 400 burned with exercise. so my question to you all is what should i aim to keep these %'s at?

thanks for any help!

was that just one day or the average?

IN general what I try for is 40% carb / 35% protein / 25% fat.

You need between 20% and 25% fat to be healthy. Your body needs some fat.
For me, 35% protein hits fairly close to the 120g of protein that I aim for daily.
The rest is the balance of trace and complex carbs in what I eat.

Thanks Kara thats helpfull, I knew i was to high on the fat i just didnt know what i should aim for. But as for carbs im not sure what all i should eat to up that.

The way it works for me is that I prioritize protein. I MUST get 120-ish grams of protein per day. If I get that, and if I make sure that my fat is around 25% ... the rest of it falls where it falls.

I like focusing on protein as a priority, rather than trying to make the percentages balance out. And I find if I do that, the percentages actually balance better anyway.

Thanks, I think i'm going to give that a try. i was eating a baked potato pretty often for supper with my baked chicken. today i had some green beans with it and a side salad, tasted better and is better for me =)
