i would like to know the answer to this too

is there anything specific to look for with omega supplements?

I have bought those before. Although they are enteric coated (which is supposed to prevent fishy burps) - I very much get fishy burps with them (eww).

I don't know if it has anything to do with them being a cheaper product or not.

Other than that, I am not familiar with all of the various qualities of different fish oil brands and what their benefits may be over cheaper ones.

I've read that you want to look for more of the pelagic species of fish.
i.e. Salmon, mackeral since they have the highest Omega 3.

Much of all fish-oil is pretty much the same. Thanks to the fact they are all distilled by law to remove most harmful contaminants.

Really what you want to look for is crap in the ingredients list that doesn't need to be there. Compare brands, get the one that has close to a two to one ratio of EPA to DHA, and that has the FEWEST ingredients.

Make sure its purified and has a good EPA to DHA ratio. I know GNC, among other's, have an added citrus flavor to avoid the fish oil burp.

I'm actually a fan of Udo's Choice Oil Blend. Check it out and see if that is what you want :)
