ok, so i've read in the forum about people taking fish oil and flaxseed oil, but i don't know what do those supplements do for you, and are a good thing for me to take if i am trying to lose weight?
They provide essential (good) fats and are a must whether your losing weight (cutting) or gaining weight (bulking). 25-30% of your total caloric intake should come from fats, with 1/3 being from saturated and the rest comprised of the essential (good) fats.
ok, i was in the grocery store yesterday, and saw both, in pill form, is that normal, should i be taking one or both that way, or do they come in liquid form. ijust want to be sure i know what i am getting into before i buy any, a bottle of pills was 20 bucks yesterday.
Most fish oil I have seen come in liquid-cap form. As far as flax, I have seen it as oil and in seed form, I am sure they have it in a pill or something, but not sure how effective.
just go with teh fish oil caps. flaxseed oil studies - some show increased prostate cancer risk from the ALA in flaxseed oil, which isn't present in fish oil.
other studies say it decreases cancer risk.
until someone figures it out, I wouldn't rely on flaxseed oil
how do you prepare your mackerel? I usually have tilapia which isnt heavy in Omega 3's but its damn tasty. I was thinking of switching to a more Omega3 rich fish such as mackerel or herring and was wondering how tasty it is. I know they definately have a stronger "fishy" flavor, whereas tilapia is more a mild flavored fish.
I buy mackerel filets in tomato sauce, its simple you put it on a piece of bread The taste may require some time to getting used to, as coffee etc but once you are used to it it is very good, after workout i eat one box of this and with stretching i dont feel ive worked out at all (nearly hehe), i dont know if mackerel filets in tomato sauce is avalible in your country but here it is a big thing
