First post! Changing my unhealthy habits

Hi all,
I'm late 20s, 5foot and 55kg .

My average weight has always been about 45kg.

About 18 months ago I started to have a few drinks in the evenings and have recently calculated that extra intake of calories to be around 1000 extra calories daily.

During such time I have gained 10kg that I wish to lose and cut drinking entirely, so I'm now dropping 1000 empty calories daily.

My food intake is fairly normal. I don't eat huge portions and don't often eat sweets or a lot of junk food.

I don't wish to reduce calories from food. I'm just wondering how long it will take to get back to my normal weight while dropping 1000 alcohol calories a day.

My lifestyle is fairly sedentary but I do get light exercise in a few times a week, and I've started drinking 1-2 litres of water a day.

Welcome to the forum! Without knowing what you eat, it's hard to know how quickly you'll drop weight by cutting out 1,000 calories of alcohol.

I can relate.

I estimate I drank 23,000 alcohol calories in December.

I instituted an intensive four part plan on Jan 1 which includes no alcohol and I’m down 18 pounds.

Find your BMR which is the amount of calories your body needs per day at rest. Count your caloric intake during the day and keep the total at or below your BMR. Mix in some exercise and you wll Likely start losing the weight.

Good luck!!!
