First Compliment

A friend of mine told me that I looked good last night and that I looked like I have lost weight. I started trying to lose weight seriously at 216 lbs. and am down to 193 lbs. It is the first compliment I have received regarding my weight loss. I was surprised by the comment, because although I weigh myself every day and record it, I didn't know that it was noticeable to other people. It motivated me to keep working towards my goal of 175 lbs. I'm going to be sure to compliment others, because it made me feel great.

excellent. compliments are a great way to measure all your hard work and sacrifice.

Great to hear it!!! As you continue to lose you'll just get more and more compliments...let me tell you, it never gets old :)

Wow its great to know that you are getting compliment for loosing weight.I have also loosed weight.

Awesome. People only seem to compliment my hair.

And my cracking pair of tits...problem is, I'm a guy. ;)

But you know you've achieved something when people start to notice the difference.

Great Job! People will prolly notice more and more :) That will hopefully motivate you even more :) Just don't let it go to your head ;)

I got a weird "compliment" the other day. I'm tall as well as fat, like 6'4" or 6'5". A woman cooworker in the office next to me told me that over the last couple months since I started losing weight again, she said I'm starting to look smaller (as in shorter, as well as slimmer). I'm glad the 25lbs I've lost the last couple months are noticeable, but... losing weight making me look shorter?

:) That's great, well done on all the weight you've lost so far. One of my closest friends is going away for a year so I'm really hoping I'll look pretty different by the time she gets back if I'm doing things right!

I found that the reaction of other people gives me a lot more realistic feedback than anything else. I can see the numbers on the scale, and my reflection in the mirror, and still feel totally fat and discouraged. Then some old woman in a shop that I see every now and again and have never talked a word to turns around and says "You look well love, how did you manage to lose all that weight?", and suddenly I'm like....wow, I must look different!

It's not the actual compliment, I'm not that vain, it's the fact that somebody notices and comments who has really no reason to say anything. I mean, that woman has no reason to be nice or even say anything at all, but the change must be so noticeable that she felt the urge to comment. An outsider's view, so to speak.

Feels weird, but nice, and it's the best motivation, at least for me. :)

I am on the short side, standing at 5'2". so i guess my fat has not a lot of places to go except "out" lol. which i suppose makes it easier for me to look fat. a couple years ago, i started working out, and i lost probably about 5 pounds, which i thought was nothing and i didn't really notice a change. but i got SO many compliments. it is really motivating. a recent one that i got from my boyfriend was that i looked taller. lol i took this to mean that i looked slimmer ;) i'm sure that's what he meant. haha defintely a good measure of success i think.
