So, I've been doing the calculations and setting my daily calorie goals but I'm running into a problem I have run into before and not conquered: I need to eat more.

When most people think of 'dieting' they think of eating less. I sat down this morning and started plugging my planned meals into Fitday... the result was not even half of what my minimum target should be.

Does anyone have tips for packing more nutrition into a day? Any particular foods that are easy to keep on hand for snacking? I'm not used to eating outside mealtimes, and have a bad habit of skipping meals that I'm trying to break.

I use nuts. Some have higher fat content than others so you should be careful. I eat raw nuts with no salt added.

oh dieting doesnt mean less food ...
have a look at this

it only means less food if they are more calorie dense :D

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'm definitely going to look into 'good' nuts and pick some up at the store this week.

Oranges I have trouble with... they tend to give me heartburn. Orange juice is even worse. What's the caloric value of a Tums, anyway? :)

Hello squeak,
nice to meet you.
Well I have a question for you.
Why do you think that you need more food?
You have two answers:
1. I still feel a bit hungry when I finish my meal but after 20-30 minutes I feel full.
2. I still feel a bit hungry and after 1 hour I feel hungry even more
Please let me know which answer is it, so I could help you somehow :)

mmmmmmm good
