What is your favorite Fiber One cereal and bar?
I really would like to try it out but don't know which flavor to buy.
Thank you :)

I will not eat the bars - one of their primary ingredients is High Fructose Corn Syrup which is just overly sweet and gross to me -not tomention I've read too much on why you shouldn't have this in your diet.

The plain cereal is fine mixed in with yogurt..

but the bars -no way..

At moment I'am eating oat bran...but my friend didn't liked at all. Than I think if cheerios was a good option to her. At Oprah talk show...the Dr. Oz, said this cheerios are a good choice...but they taste are so sweet. And of couse...I think, if she eat and don't lose weight?!

Do you know if this are a good advice...for her (choise the cheerios)?

I prefer higher fiber cereals -

cheerios are 3 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar for 100 calories a serving.. .good for a snack...

Fiber1 comes in 2 forms - the sugar cereal with 56% in ONE CUP fiber and the regular one with 56% fiber in HALF A CUP

It does not say whether this fiber is soluble and insoluble... what's the difference anywayz I'm so confused on this and which does fiber1 have?

iber—Just the facts, ma’am.
Dietary Fiber is the part of plant foods that your body doesn’t digest. Fiber, therefore, helps with regularity and has been shown to have other health benefits, as well.

There are two types of dietary fiber used in the labeling of food products – both are important for good health.

Soluble fiber dissolves in water and is found in foods like beans and other legumes, fruits, and oat products (e.g. Oatmeal, Cheerios®). Soluble fiber can help lower cholesterol levels, and therefore can help reduce the risk of heart disease.

Insoluble fiber is considered to be the “gut-healthy fiber” because one of its roles is supporting regularity. It does not dissolve in water and can be found in whole grain products (e.g. whole wheat bread, ready to eat cereals made with whole grain, such as Fiber One cereals), and vegetables.

^Thanks!!

Interesting the Fiber1 cereal Canada has 100 calories per half a cup (and it's the original 0 grams of sugar one too oO)

LOL... which reminds me some cereals say 1/2 = 30 grams and the cheerios cereal says per cup which is 30 grams....

Confusing... how big is a cup anywayz? It's so confusing when there are different materials out there..... I mean is it a cereal mistake? Or does different materialed cereal account for different weight?

1 cup = 1 measuring cup which is techically 8 ounces but it's not always due to volume shifting and stuff.. that's why you're better off using gram weight -because 30 grams will alwys be 30 grams..

Fiber one has a few different products now -the original -which is pretty much colon blow (from saturday night live) which is very little sugar and lots and lots of fiber.. their other products are higher in calories and have more sugar..

kashi makes a bar and its sugar is not fructose its refined caine..

very good bars

I like very much the flavor of oat bran...but sometimes, to change the meal, I like eat this Favrichon's Granosson. ()

No added sugar..
Naturally high in proteins – your body’s essential building-block.

wheat bran* (84%), barley malt syrup*, T65 wheat flour*, sea salt.
* 100% of the farm ingredients are grown within organic farming guidelines.

The dietary fiber is 46,6g (it's a lot of fiber)
total Carbs 25g of wich sugars are 9,2 g

(To my friend, this one she didn't liked too. She like kellogs k, but they have less fiber)

I love these bars so much! All the flavors are good, you really can't go wrong. But yeah, I never really noticed how much sugar was in them. I always eat bars of some sort as I'm running off to class because I don't even have time to pour milk into cereal usually. I'll definitely look for some other kind next time I'm at the grocery store, does anyone have any recommendations? I know I dislike the kashi bars though, the ones I tried were too nutty/salty and I really like sweeter things.

I've never eaten the bars. This morning I had my first bowl of Fiber1. I didn't really enjoy it all that much. It's the plain ol' Fiber1 that I put Splenda and some fruit in. I much MUCH more prefer what I had last week.

If you're Canadian and looking for a good, affordable high-fiber breakfast cereal try President's Choice Fiber First. It has 12g of fiber/30g serving. It has a different texture than Fiber1 which is why I think I prefer it. But it's ~$3.50 for a 500g box. All-bran buds are ~$5+ for the same sized box.

South Beach Cereal

Have you tried the South Beach Cereal? I have that for breakfast and it has a large amount of fiber compared to some and a low amount of sugar.

I eat Fiber One Honey Clusters, it has HFC but it's pretty far down the list. I also eat the Fiber One bars. I like the oats and Peanut butter and the oats and caramel (tastes more like butterscotch).

I also really like the Kashi Go Lean Crunch 8G fiber per serving. I didn't see HFC and it tastes like apple jacks to me. Additionally, I eat Quaker Oatmeal Squares, the ones that have 5G of fiber or more per serving. I really like those as well.

I love the fibre 1 honey oat clusters cereal. It tastes amazing and its high in fibre. I used to eat the original All-bran cereal wich isn't nearly as good as the fibre 1. Eating should be pleasureable and not a chore so don't force yourself to eat the original cereal if it tastes like shit.. That just sets you up for failure.

I was reading the back of the raisin bran box and it has 8g of fiber for 1cup which is 32% of you daily value. I don't consider that bad at all. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

This is an interesting article on cereal.
