So.. people.... who's going to jump on the weight loss train?
There's a lot of newbies, but who is going to take the big jump, and make a personal commitment to lose weight in Feb!

month long smothering of reputation
to anyone who signs up in this thread to commit to the Feb challenge!
(offer applies only to people who haven't participated in challenges recently!)
(HOPEFULLY, others will help me smother you with reputation in Feb. too!)

I'll sign up though you don't have to smother me with rep as I joined in the January one :D

If anyone is tempted but shy, just go for it. Its really helped me keep focus during January and the weight loss and support are a real boost to the self esteem.

There aren't any prizes, but on the other hand, it's a low pressure way to enter in a group that will support you, and to see how you compare to others who have decided to lose weight in February.

No pressure to lose, and lots of people to help you out!

Because I think for Feb, I want to lose 6lbs! That's not too much!!!

You can set your own goals if you like! You can set monthly or weekly goals, or both, or neither.... (you can commit to losing weight or just having a healthy month without setting any specific goals)
It really is a completely no pressure challenge.
Have a look at the Dec. and January challenges for examples.
 
I love this! I checked out Jan- I'm so there! :)

I'm excited to lose my 6lbs! Hopefully I'll achieve it- as I'm going away for a week skiing- which will surely include poor eating choices...but I will make sure that I stick to it :)

It really honestly just depends on a lot of factors....
Starting weight and exercise can make a big difference in how much you can lose.
Many people here say 2lbs per week is a pretty good place to start.
 
I think you're supposed to aim for between 1-2 pounds a week but if you're like 300lbs you're going to be able to shift more per week than a 120lb person. It's all dependent on how much you do and how much you weigh.
 
I'd like to join :D even without the smothering.
I would like to lose 8lbs this month. I weigh in on Saturdays.
