FBW or Split during cutting

I put this in the weight loss section, but had no replies.

I'll start off with some background. I've been working out for a few years. I started off very fat >35%BF. Lost a lot of fat and gained alot of muscle. When I first began lifting I went directly to overtraining (like most) then when I gained knowledge I did a FBW, mostly variations of a 5x5. I def got stronger and added good muscle and lost some fat. Then i did some splits; i've done push/pull splits; chest, back, and leg splits; upper body/ lower body splits.

Last year I was happy with the muscle I gained but I still couldent see alot of it because I had too much fat. So last winter and spring I started cutting. I continued my split while dieting hard and lost a significant amount of weight and fat. Weight was approx 223 to 195 and BF was approx 24% to 17%. Overall it was a struggle. I lost strength and motivation, my workout partner keeped me going.

This past fall I have a new gym, no partner and my goal was add more muscle. I wanted to add 1 lb or less per week. Since September i've gained about 20lbs. Most of it was good, slow and steady, except for the holidays where i put on a little more than I would have liked, but anyway here I am.

Starting February, I want to cut. My goal is 25lbs by June.

Finally my question is what kind of routine would you suggest during a cutting phase? I would like general opinions and/or suggestions of establised programs. I want something that will keep me motivated and prevent burnout.

Thanks for your help!

If I left something out or you have any questions, please ask.
