Sport Fat pants?

Sport Fitness
I had always been very skinny (150lbs) with a 32 inch waist. I am 5'11" and have recently gained some weight and went to a 34-36 inch waist. After 2 months of diet and excersize, I am at 174lbs with 16%BF, but still a 34 inch waist. I am going to continue to diet and excersize but want to stay at ~175lbs just lose about 4% more BF and gain more muscle.

I was wondering what waistline someone has with my height and about 10-12%BF has. Anyone fit that bill or know what I should shoot for?

its hard to say though. if you have a wide frame, your pelvis will be wider than someone of the same height/weight who's got a narrow frame.

in other words, it'll just be a guesstimate, so whatever number you come up with, don't hold it too tightly.

Rather than a circumference measurement, why not use the trusty calipers and measure BF front abs, side abs and lower back and try to minimize stored fat in that area? You could have very large muscles around your ab area (spinal erectors, etc.) that could make your tape measurement increase without having a lot of body fat...

I used to work out with a guy when I was in college back in the 70's in Autin Texas (he pro-wrestled under the name Ivan Putski, The Polish Power) who had like 4% body fat, but looked like he had a pot belly because he had so much muscle around his trunk (he was 5'8", around 260 pounds).

I found some pictures. Look how thick (but not fat) his waist is:

I really need to get some calipers.
