Fat Legs.

Hi there everyone.

I am a rugby player (a bit like American Football), I weigh about 195 pounds and am 6ft tall. I'm muscular enough (I have a 34 inch waist, 42inch chest etc) and mixed with my weights sessions, I run 3-4 times a week. My problem is that my legs seem to carry a lot of my weight. They seem to bulky for my body and they don't look great in jeans or trousers. I mostly can't buy trousers with a 34 inch waist because my legs are too big for them most of the time. Whilst not being overly fat ( Ido have some definition in them), they do have that Chicken drumstick appearance about them. I cycle about 7 miles a day (3.5 to and from work) also. Is there any kind of exercise I can do to perhaps lean out the muscle to give my legs an aesthetically more pleasing appearance. Perhaps I'm just impatient and should keep doing what I'm doing and give it more time. I no longer do heavy weights on my legs at all.
This probably sounds incredibly vain of me, but I work out mostly to look good (although I do really enjoy running these days) and I would look better with shapelier? thighs.

i think it's not so much the heavy weight lifting that caused it, i think it's the cycling. a friend of mine has the same chicken drumstick thing going on with his thighs and he used to cycle a lot in the day. a possible explanation is that your seat is to low, thus you limit your range of motion. meaning your quadriceps arent being trained in it's full range of motion and it gets thicker/bigger on the top part more then evened out over the whole muscle... giving the chicken drumstick look.

ill look into this more to see if my hypothesis checks out. in the mean time.. either dont cycle or check out the hight of the seat
