Have realistic goals. If you don't exercise, don't expect to get tone. If you do not eat healthy, do not expect to lose that belly.
There is no perfect way to burn maximal fat. However, there are elements that should be present for fat oxidation (fat burning) to be at a higher rate.
Numerous studies point to these basic elements:
1.) Eat less calories than you use daily. However, make sure the calories do not drop below your RMR level (generally speaking women must be above 1500k/cal).
2.) Train (including cardio activiites) with moderate and low intensities. If you follow a periodization, phase low/mod. intensities in and out throughout the year.
3.) Sleep 6-8 hours a night and 9-10 hours once a week. Sleep not only helps your body recover, but it helps you drop the fat.
Best of luck with your goals,
Bonnie
