Hello everyone! Nice to join this forum.

Anyways, I'am 6' 3'' tall, weigh 246 pounds, and am going to turn 27 here soon. Don't know my exact BMI, but I'm definitely in the obese category.

As far as I'am concerned, I do not have any medical related issues. Just overweight. On no medications, non smoker, blood pressure and heart rate is in the ideal category, and rarely consume alcohol.

I cut out all white bread on December 22nd, though I still consumed some pop and baked goods here and there. My current diet primarily consists of boneless skinless chicken breast, steak, lean ground beef chili, lean ground beef taco soup, and greens etc. I cut out pop around the first of the year, all white bread, and any baked goods(Jan 5th)

As for my current exercise, I do about 18 - 20 miles a day on a stationary bike. I began this program on January 14th, and have not missed a day. I've improved since. I can do more miles in a shorter time, than I could when I started. I do consume two whey protein shakes. One before, and after. I do add some peanut butter to them for more protein and healthy fats. I've lost fat since then. Just haven't seen the weight loss on the scale yet.

My first attempt at weight loss began on September 10, 2017, and relapsed on October 20th. My diet back then was primarily the same as it is now. Just consumed some fruits. Didn't exercise much, maybe walked a couple miles here and there. Didn't consume pop, protein shakes, baked goods, or junk food. My diet before September 10th was mainly a lot of pizza, taco's, pop, and candy. Would still eat some healthy stuff here and there. But once I cut out all of that junk food, I was losing close to 3-4 pounds a week. Started at 248, and on October 3rd, as at 230 Pounds. Then I began my old ways of eating like crap again, and gained all that I've lost back.

My only explanation for as to why I was able to drop weight quickly back then was I went from eating like crap, to cutting it all out at once. So my body just maybe went into panic mode! When I decided to go back onto my weight loss again, I slowly eased myself off of it. Cutting back on pop, sugar, etc, until I one day didn't want to consume any of it.

Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks for reading, and allowing me to join this forum!

Dude, you're like my younger doppelganger, except you like pop and I drink wine. I'm also 6'3 and was pushing a similar weight. My weight fluctuated up and down with a "cleanse" here or a "healthy month" there. I think I found a way to not only lose it but keep it off. I could be wrong, but I've never been more optimistic.

I would tell the younger me the following:

1. Count your damn calories. Every meal. Every drink. Every day. Choose a reasonable daily caloric goal (I suggest 2,100) and stick to it. You may fail some days and that is OK. But be accountable, literally and figuratively.

2. Understand (and get angry with the fact) that you're working your ass off with exercise only to MAINTAIN your weight. Such a waste of hard work!

3. Share your story with other like-minded people - to that end, check out the diary section on this webpage. They say that the easier part is losing the weight and the harder part is keeping it off.

I'm now looking forward to the harder part, for the rest of my life. Let's do this!
