Fat around the midsection

The only place on my body that has a little fat is around my midsection and it is a very stubborn area for me to deal with, when I ask, a lot of people tell me that "stress" has a lot to do with this. I intend to increase my workouts and concentrate on my stomach workouts in particular and diet of course. What are your tips/info/advice on controlling the fat around the midsection please? Thanks.

No, I eat my dinner between 3-4pm and have either a fruit or a handful [this is counting the shells] of dry roasted peanuts at 8 and I go to bed between 10-10.30pm.

a lot of this is just genetics ... and, you can't target a section for weight loss. By targetting an area, you are only increasing your muscle, not decreasing fat. In many cases, building up a strong abs will actually make you look a little bigger because you are pushing the fat out a little further with the muscle. For many people, the stomach is the last place you will lose the noticeably extra fat ... so, you just have to keep working at it.

In my case, I have to believe like you say that a lot of this is genetics as my Granddad [on my Father's side] was a big man [6' 4" 240lbs or so] and my Dad and his 5 brothers were all well over 200 lbs at an average height of 6', they ALL had "punches" or a "belly" so I guess this was passed on to me although I blame a lot of this on my past [poor] eating habits and all of those years when in my thirties that I had stopped the regular workouts, this didn't help either. Anyways, I am making progress now, it's slow I must admit but I am moving forward with all of this diet and exercising so I see this as a positive, thanks for the info!

np ... genetics (in these cases) only mold you to a point if you let it ... you can easily tell where genetics play after high school. Once you are no longer forced into regular exercise and your metabolism starts to slow, but nothing else changes in your life, you will see the direction that your body wants to go .... and the battle begins :)
