im not fat or anyting like that.. im 21 and about 150lbs.. eating food like mcdonalds every once and a while its not that bad is it? i can see if i was older then it wouldnt digest/burn off that easy but considering my age its more or less ok if i eat that kinda food and trying to get in shape correct? correct me if im wrong..

It's pretty bad... trust me on this... at 21 I was 180-200 lbs, by 25 I was 270... I'm almost 30 now, and overall I'm in pretty good health, other than 3-5 times a day heartburn, a duodenal hernia and a couple of ulcers, oh yeah, and the two non-cancerous tumors around my stomache... oh, did I mention that eating fast food a couple times (2-3) every week for the last 10 years has made my entire digestive tract go to sh*t? So, yeah, it's that bad, and I've been having to work my arse off for the last month to get down to 254 lbs and I'm going to keep going to get to 230. But it's a long hard road once your body get's to this point. So save yourself the grief and lay off the fast food, seriously.

Well, I used to eat fast food 2-3 times a week... so twice a month is a big improvement, but to me, if I could back up time, and NEVER EVER eaten the stuff, trust me I would have.

fast food is terrible....i never realized how bad it was until i did research on it for a report in health/p.e. about nutrition.....it's rediculous how much fat/calories they can cram into those meals.....

see i wouldnt mind not eating fast food its not a big deal to me.. i just dont want to end up being one of those health freaks that will only eat subway and is checking the nutrition chart on everything i eat.... thats my deal lol

try this for fast food.

2 handfuls of baby spinach, 1 handful of diced grilled chicken, 6 cherry tomatoes and some olive oil and lemon juice dressing.

Elapsed time: less than 2 minutes.

Rent and watch Super Size Me - it might give you a different perspective on fast food. A with a little prep time in the kitchen there's any number of recipes that are quick AND healthy, like stir frying, or boiling, or steaming, or baking, or broiling... well, you get the idea... The palate just needs to be reminded that healthy and great taste/flavor aren't mutually exclusive.

I look at fast food the same way I look at smoking -

is it bad? absolutely
will it kill you? probably
does it kill everyone? no, not everyone
will you die intstantly from an occassional one? no - but one leads to more - if it's in your rotation of food that you consider when hungry, chances are it will pop up more and more often as time goes by, what starts off as 1-2 times a month, becomes 1-2 times a week....

I'm gonna really try to cut down on fast food...ever since my bulking phase started, I've been eating pretty dirty. This includes eating fast food usually 2-3 times a week; however, I've gotten lucky with my dad's fast metabolism and have gained little to no fat. In fact, my thighs have gotten thinner and more defined.

I'm scared it's all gonna catch up to me later, so it was nice seeing this thread as a reminder to cut it out. :)

ic.. i guesss down with the fast food lol.....
