Hi Everyone,

This is my first post - so happy to have found this forum... have read a lot of info on weight loss...

So here it goes... I LOVE fast food lol

I'm 5'8", 277lbs majority of it is belly fat from pregnancy...

I have started working out daily (cardio) at home... treadmill, the wave, tae bo, zumba and swimming...

I have motivation to work out daily but my problem is the food...

I have stopped buying lunches while at work - I pack a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks... and I am fine with it.... BUT after work while out shopping or running errands and I see the golden arches or red pigtails I'm automatically hungry - even after eating a healthy dinner and feeling full a minute prior...

So my question is if there are any fast food junkies (or should I say ex lol) that are/were in the similar position and what you did you overcome the temptations... I'm open to any suggestions or thoughts...

Thanks !!!

Hi!

I used to like a little fastfood every now and then and obviously knew it wasnt good for me but some of it tasted so good.

One day I happened to be watching a documentary and it changed my view completely. I periodically watch this documentary every time I find myself disregarding the quality of the food I am putting in my body.

It is called Food Inc - it is on netflix.

I would recommend making a little agreement with yourself. You can have mcdonalds on the same day every month, as much as you want. Make it a reward for being good all month. If you try to go from loving it to not having it at all you are denying yourself something, make it a positive by turning it in to a reward :)

I used to love fast food too. But it was funny - I wouldn't let my toddler eat it, so why was I so willing to put it in my body???? I decided that I had to eat only things that I would let him eat - parents are a huge role model and teacher - and I didn't want him to have my bad habits. I also want to be around for a long time and active in his life. I didn't want to be the mom that sat on the edge and watched - I want to coach the sports teams, volunteer at the tournaments and be the running partner on weekends or their spotter in the gym. The love I have for my kids is a huge motivating factor for me.

Thanks for the advice... I don't let my son eat fast food very often... once in awhile he will have some chicken nuggets from McDonalds but that's it...

Thanks ForRealThisTime - I will definatley check out the documentary !

When I first started losing weight, I allowed fast food as long as I was tracking it, and I would opt for a small size, or some of the "healthier" stuff. Now, I don't eat it at all. It just dawned on me how gross it really is. I too have seen Food Inc. It was pretty informative.

I drive a different route to avoid the fast food places. There's one particular stretch of road by where I live that has 6! fast food places, (McD's, Wendy's, Rally's, BK, KFC, TacoBell) plus a subway, and 3 pizza shops, a donut shop, and ice cream parlor/greasy spoon. It's a very good place to stay away from! Literally all with a 1/2 mile stretch
