Hey guys. I was on a medication that made me gain an excessive amount of weight (100 pounds), and I quit the med, and lost about 70 pounds of the fat. Unfortunately, the rest of the 30 won't come off even after 3 months of being off the medication. I have had a great diet and exercise plan for about 10 years now. I have tried everything to get rid of the last 30 pounds (low carb diet, anywhere from 1500-2500 calorie diets, supplements, different types of cardio). I always stick to relatively low fat and sugar. Basically, I got stuck with a metabolic condition even after the medication is gone from my body -- and it is making it impossible for me to lose weight.
I went on another forum for help and they basically berated me and told me to eat right and exercise more, but the fact is I was already doing that and probably much more than most of the people on that forum. They did not understand that I have a legitimate health problem. People often have entitlement issues over others who have difficulties in order to make themselves feel better.

* 29 year old male
* In really good shape, can ran 5 miles easy and bench over 250 (just look fat, unfortunately)
* Gain and lose weight in phases very fast with no changes (gained 4 pounds in a day, and it stuck for a week, then the next week lost the same amount overnight)
* Foods and water seem to expand like crazy & weigh more in my body than their actual weight upon intake (I've weighed myself an hour after drinking a 1 pound drink and noticed a 3 pound increase even after using the bathroom. This happens constantly and I have an accurate scale)
* No weight change based on the rules of caloric restriction (I was running 30 miles a week for a month and lost no weight nor gained, stopped running for a month and lost no weight nor gained)
* currently 216 pounds, 5'8, lots of muscle weight
I'd appreciate some advice from people that actually know what they are doing; not those trying to put everything into a generic pigeon-hole. Please suggest something I can do to fix my metabolism so my body responds to exercise and dieting the same way as a normal person's. When I was 18 before this harmful drug, I was only 150 pounds and I ate ALL the time, bad foods too, and I never exercised cardio-wise. I could not even run a mile. Yet I was extremely skinny. It's a shame - really. Thanks in advance.
