Extremely Novice supplement questions

Hey all, Newbie here (at least to this specific forum).

I have lost about 30 lbs in the last 3-4 months from just watching my diet and getting back into a relatively light workout regimine.

Recently I have hit a plateau in my weight loss (I'm 6'0" and currently at around 235-240 lbs). While my body is changing in good ways appearance-wise, the weight hasn't dropped a pound in the last 2-3 weeks. I found my way into a nutrition store this weekend and purchased a fat-burner called "Super HD", which I found in a GNC. I'm going to give this a try to see if it helps me break through this plateau I've been struggling with/at for a while now. Wondered if any of you have any suggestions, tips, advice when it comes to taking something like this.

Also, I'm thinking it may be a good idea to take a multivitamin to supplement my diet. While I do my best to try and eat healthy and balanced, with a couple of kids in the house its not always the easiest to stay on top of all of that, especially since I get home late a lot of nights and end up eating whatever the rest of the family had earlier. I have a weight loss shake (generic version of Weight Watchers shake) in the morning for breakfast (usually a banana as well). I have a protein bar each mid-morning and mid-afternoon, and a 250-320 calorie frozen entree for lunch. Then at night, its usually a pretty good meal cooked at home.

Without getting "graphic", while I don't have any problems to speak of in the bedroom, I've noticed recently that it takes me a little longer than it has in the past to get ...... 'stimulated', if you get my drift, and my endurance isn't what it used to be either. I know that at 41, many say that this is to be expected. However, i'd like to keep my end of the bargain up for a bit longer and a bit quicker out of the gates.

Are there any multivitamins that would help with overall health AS WELL AS maybe giving me a boost in the bedroom as well?

Thanks in advance for any insight, tips, advice, etc.

I don't know anything about any specific fat-burners, but I'm told the active ingrediant is often caffein, which your body adjusts to fairly quickly. I don't know if this is the case with Super HD. After several months of dieting, most people will eventually hit a plateau. And, for most people, the solution is simple: spend a week not giving a damn about weight loss. Bump your calories back up by about 300kcal/day by increasing carbohydrate intake, and take a deload with your training; relax a bit. After 1-2 weeks (I think Lyle McDonald [who's on the opposite end of the nutrition spectrum to a more famous McDonald] recommends 10-14 days to properly reset your metabolism), return to your regular diet and exercise, and keep on progressing for another 3-4 months until you need another diet break to reset.

With regards to a multi-vitamin, it's probably a good idea to have one.

With regards to bedroom stuff, I don't know much about specific nutrition to rev things up there, but testosterone gets things happening for both sexes (part of the reason why kissing leads to sex is that it simulates oxytocin in the male and his saliva transfers testosterone to the female). Having a full nutritional profile and doing some intense training (be it strength training or HIIT) will tend to support your natural testosterone levels. Also, it would probably help to apply what my mum once told me, which is that foreplay doesn't start 5min before sex, it starts the day before. Be a couple. Flirt, romance each other, and don't make excuses why you can't do that, just as we'll all tell you not to make excuses when it comes to fitness. Beyond that, nature is nature, try to work with it, and if you need further help, hopefully someone with more experience and insight can help you out.

Look for a multi that has 100% of the Daily Value for most of the essential vitamins and minerals, particularly the following eight vitamins: thiamin (vitamin B-1), riboflavin (vitamin B-2), niacin (vitamin B-3), vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, folic acid, vitamin D and vitamin E.

There is a fiber product called PGX which is very helfull for increasing satiety, stabalizing blood sugar and increasing insulin sensitivity. Try a glass of beet juice 30 miniutes before bedroom activity. It is a natural source of nitrates which will convert to nitric oxide, increasing blood flow and circulation.
