I have been dieting for the last 5 month and exercising for the last 3 years. I do allot of excersize (about 2.5 Hours Mon-Fri) and it produced a reasonable weight loss a couple of pounds a week then in April I plateaued off at around 20 Stone, I figured it was diet based and so i started counting my calories and removed all "High GI" foods from my diet That was monday the 5th of May I was 286lbs . Today on the 10th I'm 274lbs. I'm eating around 1600-1800 calories daily and at the plateau I was eating around 2000 Calories daily although i was not monitoring it as strictly.
What gives why am i dropping weight alarmingly fast I'm eating plenty of protein to maintain muscle mass and fiber ( Green Veg and fruits )
Another thing is most of the weight loss seems to be muscle which when you cycle 19 miles to work is not the most helpful but if i increase my protein intake i will be doing nothing but eating protein.
I cycle at an average speed of 16-18 mph btw just to give an idea of the level of exercise i do.
Any Suggestions to slow down this weight loss and get the body to burn mainly fat ?
