Sport Extra Calories on a Budget?

Sport Fitness
Hey All,

I am a hardgainer so of course I am on a high calorie diet. But I find that this is all starting to break my budget. I am in social work so I do not earn millions. Most of my money goes to groceries now and it is killing me.

What are some good sources of healthy calories (Yes, I am staying away from patato chips)?

Also, what is a good/cheap snack that is high in protein (besides nuts)?

Thanks,

GarbageGuy

Hi,
I totally understand your situation. I'm a hardgainer and I have to eat a lot, and I work in social work (aside from my personal training), so the money doesn't exactly pour in.

Here area few ideas:
Eggs
Brown rice
Cottage cheese
Tuna fish
Bananas
Whole grain cereal
Rolled oats
Potatoes

Just a few ideas...

eggs is great to eat for size, i had no gains, then i started eating eggs, now i have gains:p not saying it works as well for everyone, but it sure worked for me! ;)

How often should I eat eggs to make some good gains? When eating eggs, should I take some yolks out since they are loaded with fat and cholestoral?

Thanks

You can eat eggs daily, if you can stand them that often. I suggest eating 1 whole egg with 4 egg whites. You can always buy egg beaters to avoid separating the eggs. Much easier.
