Exercising while pregnant

I didn't know which part of the forums to post this in so I will post it here. I just found out I'm pregnant and I know that the intensity of my workouts will need to change. So what do I do? What happens with runs, weight training etc???

Congratulations, you're having kittens! :)

Exercise is good for both you and the baby, so good job! Obviously, avoid contact sports, and activities such as soccer, basketball, hockey, horseback riding, and vigorous racquet sports. Other than that, a lot of it depends on how you feel.

You can pretty much exercise as normal unless it causes you discomfort related to the pregnancy, or unless you experience complications. And don't lay on your stomach after the first trimester, don't hold your breath, and avoid isometrics. Stop exercising immediately if you experience vaginal bleeding, trouble breathing before exercise, dizziness, headache, chest pain, muscle weakness, calf pain or swelling, or decreased fetal movement. Or your water breaks or you go into labor. :)

Hope this helps, good luck!

Congrats on the coming baby! as far as i know, exercising is pretty good when you're expecting. You need to keep your health up throughout this whole time.

Just like what joe said, you just need to watch the intensity of your workouts since pushing yourself too hard might not be very good for both you and the baby. I recommend asking your doctor or someone that's more experienced on the matter just to be on the safe side.

You'll see your baby with 6 packs abs and full blown muscle when it comes out.Just joking.Lessen your excercise because the baby's hold might come out.You may also leak your water bag in running.
