Exercising the same routine

Hi. I've heard that if you exercise the same routine all the time, eventually it will quit working for you. Is this correct? How long can you stick with a routine before it quits working for you?
Does this include walking and getting on the stationary bike as well?
Does this include weight training?

Please Help! :)
 
i try switching it up every week
 
I don't know if it quits working after a while , I always get bored first.
When I feel bored with an exercise I try to mix it up a little bit and do some things differently.
