Exercises for the abs but NOT the obliques?

To achieve my ideal body shape, I'd like to put on some more ab muscle (gotta love the ripples) but lose the obliques, to make the hipbones and ribs more apparent. Any Advice? I can feel the obliques working when I do sit-ups and back-bends. Is there any way to target the abdominals that specifically?

On a similar note, any exercises to target the glutes but not the thighs? I fit my jeans perfect except my thighs are getting a bit too much muscle.

I know the way to stay slim is plenty of cardio, and I do plenty, but late at night I have to be quiet so things like jogging in place or jumping jacks are out.

as you said, cardio is great for staying slim, do hindu squats, heres a link to my blog: [link removed]

if you do normal crunches it targets the abs a lot more than the obliques. but its not enough to do crunches to get the 6 pack. you can get a six pack from hardly doing ab exercises but having a low body fat percentage. lowering your body fat percentage will also slim down your thighs.

You are probably not really trying to lose obliques, but more than likely trying to lose love handles that are covering your obliques. And, no, you can not spot reduce any fat on your body, you just need to lower your total body fat percentage till those pesky love handles disappear. I do a lot of core exercises that target obliques, and my hips/obliques have not gotten larger, and that's good.
