I am sorry if this has been covered previously, I did go back and have a peek but couldn't find out what I wanted.

I am contemplating starting to walk each evening, say for 15mins to begin and perhaps work up to 30mins eventually. I remember being told if I wasn't already exercising not to start but I feel a little guilty not doing anything and have noticed quite a few of you do some form of exercise... mainly because I want to maintain some level of fitness for after, as I am hoping getting out and moving will be a big part of "the new me" and also help me maintain my weight post-Cohen's.

What do you all think?

I don't see how walking could hurt you. I started walking our local 1/4 mile track. Made it around three times the first day, and am now up to twelve times around. I do it three times a week. Walking is great exercise.

Hi Jen

The Cohenites who are exercising have already completed refeed and reached goal...I am one of those and even though I am back on plan I am not doing any weighing of foods. And I am eating alot more of the healthy carb's as oppossed to the starchy variety.
I think walking is fine, but just watch out for those hunger pangs. As you know cohens is a very low calorie diet and relies on the HGH for burning those stored fat deposits hence the reason for no excessive exercising.

I never did any exercise on plan but do wish I had done a little walking.....I lost the weight no worries but I had no muscle tone at the end. So like I said I don't think a 15 minute walk will be a problem and if I had to redo it again I would also incorporate some light strenghting exercise like weights....(NOT THE BODY BUILDING TYPE) and invest in a good quality resistance tube....they are wonderful, I bought some from the chemist at Christmas.

Same as Sam I think a little 15 min walk would not be a problem, but just watch out for the hunger if you are over exercising.

I would love to be able to walk, but due to a back problem I cannot and this was one of the main reason for trying the cohens plan.

But I do agree with Sam and as soon as I am able to I will start a little walking or probably a bit of hydrotherapy for my rehabilitation after I get my operation. Because I would like to feel fitter than I am at the moment. and also I would like to be tone not just thin at the end when I reach my Goal.

Hi Jen!

I have done Aquarobics a minimum of once a week (sometimes twice a week) nearly from the beginning (1hour).

I was walking 3 or 4 days a week (40min) at first cos thats what I had been doing before starting Cohens..but found I was getting really really fatigued (and hungry)... however... I have, intermittently done 1 walk a week (sometimes 2), and have dropped it back to 25-30min.

Couldn't handle not doing the aqua...my back goes on strike when I stop for any length of time...I had a few weeks off over the xmas break and didn't notice any change in my rate of loss and I keep pretty detailed records.

I think Aqaurobics is a great thing to do... I always do it just before my meal so its not like I have ages to wait for the next energy! But to be honest I have not felt tired or hungry afterwards at all.

Basically ... keep it really simple! You dont need to do much at all and just keep a close eye on your hunger and tiredness, cos you dont want to set yourself up to fail!
