So im a bartender and generally work at all hours, this includes 8AM starts and 3PM starts and includes 5PM finishes and 12 midnight finishes. my shifts are all over the place

point being, I usually work on average at about 11am and finish about 8PM.

i am currently about 105kgs and looking to loose weight.

I've been going to the gym after work about 3 times a week. i go EXTREMELY late as i don't like being watched when i work out. i go at about 12 midnight

my exercise at the gym consist of:

*30 mins on the cross trainer on a medium setting
*small run on the treadmill ( 0.5 km)
* another 30 minutes on the cross trainer

i normally finish and get home and unwind and get into bed and sleep about 3-4AM. this leaves me feeling tired for the next day.

would it be more beneficial for me to do this is the morning instead ? about 5AM i would switch the treadmill run for an outdoors run instead.

thanks (any questions please ask!)

You should try the morning workouts and see if they feel better for you. There is no right time to exercise. Just make sure you do it. I normally run late at night because I have other commitments during the day. I will lift weights and do yoga early in the morning because I can do then at home to fit into my schedule.

I have read before that working out before eating in the morning helps jump start your metabolism, but you might want to do some research on current info. I think I read that about 5 years ago.

Do it at the time you will stick to it- for me its in the am (get up at 4:30 and do it before work- but whatever works for you is the best time- experiment until you find out what is better for you-evenings or morning.
