excersise bikes/machines and noise!

Hi there. Im hoping somone on this forum can help me. I have been using excersise bikes for some time now, the problem is untill now I have only been able to afford the 'cheaper' brand bikes (V-Fit). Eventually these machines wear down, and another problem is the noise.

I have only used 'fly-wheel' and 'air' bikes. Will one with magnetic resistence be any quieter? It dosnt bother me as much as my family! and im moving into university soon so I would like a quiet one.

Has anyone else had this issue? can you reccomend and particular type of bike that is not too noisy?

FYI, your dorm room at the University will NOT have room for an exercise bike, and the Univ. should have a weight/exercise room for you, included in your student fees.
