I'm 27 years old, I played football, baseball and basketball in high school and football for a year in college due to family health issues which forced me to leave the game and work to take care of grandparents. I've been a bigger muscular guy since high school, about 5'10 220 pounds. Always been a stronger individual and broke many records at my respective school. I'm not saying this to show off, just so those reading can have a better visual understanding here. I've grown tired of being "bigger" per say and I'd like to lean out. Drop about 20 pounds if possible. I've changed my diet to 2 chicken breast and a large salad for lunch and dinner with special k snack bars throughout the day to curb cravings being that they're only 180 calories. I am currently deployed so the chicken breast might not be the best but it's healthiest on the menu. I've gone as far as to cut weights out of my routine and stick with body weight exercises. (Push ups, sit ups, lunges, pull ups etc) I've increased my cardio to 45 mins straight a day on the treadmill at about 7-7.5 mph, soon to be 1 hour straight..maybe more if recommended. I've been at this for about 3 weeks and although my cardio level has increase I haven't seen too much weight melt off. Maybe 2 pounds. Is there something I'm doing wrong or something I need to change? I've been a weight lifter and sprinter for sports all my life so this is relatively new to me. Any advice is welcomed at this point, your knowledge is gold as far as I'm concerned. Have a great day!
