Equate Standard Vit

I'm just taking the Equate version of Centrum A-Zinc to give my body some vitamin intake since I pretty much don't focus on this in my diets. I know its not the best way to get it into my system but it is better than nothing. Any other recommendations to assist with this?

Actually not really; you'd be better off taking nothing. Centrum is like 95% of all brands out there selling something that your body doesn't absorb properly. Here's proof from their website:

"21. Are Centrum multivitamins derived from a natural or synthetic source? Which source is more easily absorbed by the body?
Centrum vitamins are derived from synthetic source ingredients. Vitamin and mineral supplements can be "synthetic", derived through chemical processes or "natural", derived directly from plants or other materials. There is no evidence that the body absorbs vitamins and minerals derived from natural sources more effectively than "synthetic" vitamins and minerals. In fact, the synthetic form of folate, known as folic acid, is actually better absorbed by the body than its natural counterpart."

There is plenty of evidence but they didn't bother looking, and why would they? Their primary concern is cost, not quality, and them admitting they derive the nutrients from synthetic sources proves that. The body doesn't recognize synthetics, and never will. They are actually detrimental to your health.

I came across a study from Seattle last year (I wish I knew where it is located), where researchers studied the waste in the sewer system. The surprising results was that there was a high amount of synthetic vitamins and minerals present. It was concluded that the high amount of synthetic nutrients were there because they passed through the body virtually unrecognized. All they really do is add to the toxic load on the body.

Look for natural sourced nutrients (Purica, Greens Plus, Flora Health to name a few). They end up costing you less in the end....Pete

I like Source Natural's 'Life Force' vitamins. they've been tested and shown to have a very high absorption rate.

good ingredients, vs poor ones that just pass through you.
