I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in or if this question has already been asked or posted.

What is the best to take for energy??

Sometimes I'm really beat and tired after work that it sometimes seems I'm drained of energy.

Any recommendatons?

i guess no one knows  oh well. ;)

Well, there may be a reason why you are lacking energy. What does your current diet look like and what is your goal?

You need to check everything before you jump into taking supplements.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is...maybe sitting on my a** all day at work at my desk job makes me tired. Ugh! lol!

My diet isn't great, but it sure as hell isn't as bad as what most people eat. I usually have coffee in the morning, apple or cottage cheese w/pineapple, baby carrots, lunch is usually a wrap w/low sodium turkey and 1 slice cheese, dinner i try to eat well...the other day I had grilled chicken w/mixed veggies, but yesterday i had 3 raviolis and a 1/2 meatball...lol! i'm italian, leftovers from mom's house....lol! i love pasta obviously, but i've switched to whole wheat pastas and for snacks sometimes i have either a yogurt, or 7 grain bread w/reduced fat peanut butter, or blue corn chips. Maybe once a week I'll have pizza.

I've gone to my dr. to tell him I get tired a lot, he ran a bunch of blood tests thinking maybe I was anemic b/c I'm only 105 lbs and checking to see if I had lyme disease or something, but everything came back ok. The only downfall is that no matter how tiny I am, my cholestorol levels tend to be a little high, dr. says most likely heredity as I don't eat too much junk except at work i may pick on a cookie or cake everynow and then, these people here at work are junk eaters..ugh! i try to avoid it like the plague...lol!

my goal basically is to just have energy for workouts. i just want to tone up a bit. other than that i'd be happy.

i currently take a multivitamin and calcium supplement daily.

therefore, i've been wondering what energy supplements there may be out there that may help??

thanks!:D

I'm Italian too so I completely understand the pasta issue. :)

I'd suggest you add at least 2 more meals into your daily intake and shoot to eat at least every 2.5 hours. This will help keep your blood sugar level throughout the day and also could help keep energy levels high. You also need to start adding some healthy fats and carbs.

The very first thing you need to do is figure out what your macronutrient requirement is for fat loss. If you shoot me a PM with your email address, I can send you a spreadsheet to help you with that. Then you can create a diet based on what your requirement is.

Thanks LV! PM sent. Do you mean 2 full meals or snacks?? What kind of fats/carbs??

Thanks!:D

After you figure what your calorie intake should be and where those calories should be coming from, you should plan a diet that consists of 5-6 small meals throughout the day.

Carbs:
Brown/white rice
Oats
Potato
Sweet Potato
Yam
Grits
Beans etc.....

Fats:
Almonds/butter
natural peanut butter
flax/fish oil
real cheese (limited)
olive oil - raw
udos oil etc.....

also as far as the fats list, i have a fish oil supplement. i guess that would be ok to take?? is once per day ok?? as far as olive oil, i use that a lot for cooking. i also use smart balance butter which contains flax.
