Weight-Loss

Hey. I've been dieting for around the past 4/5 days, and one thing I've noticed is a complete lack of energy. Before I was dieting I was easily able to stay awake until 12/1am and not feel drained. But over the past couple of days I feel as though I could go to sleep at around 6 o'clock.

I'm trying to cut back on my carbs, so my main sources of food are fruits, vegetables and Quorn (vegetarian meat supplement).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can add to my diet that A) isn't loaded with calories, B) isn't meat and C) will give me at least a decent amount of energy so I don't feel like fainting even before my evening run?

I've considered buying power or energy bars to eat right before I run. Are those any good?

Thanks,

Megan

Sounds like you're just not eating enough food. What are you eating on an average day?

Also keep in mind that carbs are not evil. You need some carbs, especially if you're exercising and running - and complex carbs are best.

But I also suspect you're not getting enough protein to sustain your workouts if the only protein product you're eating is quorn. You need to look at adding other sources of protein to your diet - from eggs, dairy, etc. if you're not vegan, and from grains like quinoa and oats if you are.

sounds like you're not eating enough to me.

Body need carbs to function. Even when losing weight, 40-50% of your daily intake of calories should be carbs.

I've started eating more carbs and different variations of protein (eggs for breakfast etc.) and it's helped monumentally!

Thanks,

Megan
