Sport Emulsion Blender

Sport Fitness
Anyone have one? Recommendations for one?

I've been looking into them, I think it'd be something great to have and really improve my diet, but they're quite $$$!

Are you talking about one of the hand blenders that would fit in a glass or a cup (Immersion)? If so, I see them for anywhere from $25 and up, depending on brand and other factors. Look on amazon with the term Immersion Blender and see what comes up. Let me kwow if that is what you are talking about.

If what you are asking about is what I am thinking about, my inlaws have one and they love it.

emulsion...soup......we have one. They are pretty cheap as Avraham said, $25 and up. Use mine all the time to blend protein shakes these days...

Thanks for the replies but I'm talking about something like this (can't post links yet, but if you go to amazon and type emulsion blender, the 2nd, 8th, and 12th down.)

Something I can throw Ice, whole fruits/veggies, etc into and know it won't break and that it will blend them adequately.

It can be confusing, though. When you type 'emulsion blender' into Amazon, Immersion blender is the first thing that comes up haha

so like this?

if so, go to target and see what they have (if you have a target/walmart by you)

that is what I found at Target, might not last forever but might nice until you can save up for what you really want.

yup!! The one at Target looks good, but is 1/3 the watts so not as powerful. I've got a working blender now to hold me over, but definitely would like to invest in the emulsion blender one day :)

WTH is an emulsion blender? Those look like regular old blenders to me

Main Entry: emul·sion
Pronunciation: \i-ˈməl-shən\
Function: noun
Etymology: New Latin emulsion-, emulsio, from Latin emulgēre to milk out, from e- + mulgēre to milk; akin to Old English melcan to milk, Greek amelgein
Date: 1612
1 a : a system (as fat in milk) consisting of a liquid dispersed with or without an emulsifier in an immiscible liquid usually in droplets of larger than colloidal size b : the state of such a system
2 : suspension 2b(3); especially : a suspension of a sensitive silver salt or a mixture of silver halides in a viscous medium (as a gelatin solution) forming a coating on photographic plates, film, or paper

Because I can throw whole carrots, apples, celery, pears, tomatoes, etc. into an emulsion blender, but a regular blender couldn't handle that. I do have the option of juicing before blending, but that's just an extra step and it can sometimes discard things that I wouldve liked incorporated in my juice.

Yeah juicers suck. They take out all the fiber.

I get what you're trying to accomplish, but what is the difference between an emulsion and "regular" blender?

Haha yes, I get that, but I mean actually physically what is different about an emulsion blender that allows you to do that?

Oh, that's the only difference ? haha. That's a lot though. I could have used one of those the past 6 weeks. I've been using some crappy blender we have that doesn't mix ice very well and I've been on a liquid diet so it makes life not so easy lol

My sister has one and she loves it, it makes perfect smoothies. My mom checked it out on her last visit to see my sister and my mom picked one up at Sam's this weekend. Not sure how much.

I wasnt sure what it was, but they said it can blend whatever you throw at it. I know my regular blender would faulter if I threw in ice, whole fruits and such.

why not just go to target/kmart/walmart, get a high power blender thats a reasonable price and try it out
if it doesnt work as well as you like return it
