Emotional Eating and the Holidays?

No matter how many diets I try, when it comes to the holidays I always lose my will power. Does this happen to anyone else? It's very frustrating, and I always emerge in the New Year feeling like I have so much to make up for. I just joined this program for emotional eaters called Shrink Yourself, and it's helping me get to the root of why I overeat. Wish me luck! And if anyone has any good tips, I'd be glad to hear them.

Sounds like a con to make you part with your money. You'd get a lot more support by keeping a diary here and interacting with other members.

One thing I do is try to restrict myself to nothing but protein and vegetables for non-holiday meals on turkey day and days close to it. I also let myself have a bite of anything I want. Since I'm getting fewer calories the rest of the time, having that extra slice of pie isn't as big of an impact as if I were eating 'normally' the rest of the time.

Then I don't need as much willpower because I'm choosing chicken boob and salad over chili or something, rather than having to choose between nothing and stuffing or pie or... you get the picture :)
