I hope nobody else has this problem, but it is a major one for me.
I think I have a decent amount of fibre in my diet. I have 2 pieces of whole wheat toast (4 g), a fibre1 granola bar (5 g fibre), at least 1 big bowl of salad, and other little things here and there everyday. I also drink 8-12 cups of water a day. No coffee, tea, soda. And still with this, sorry this is really embarassing to say, i can't go to the bathroom except every 5 days to 1 week and even when I do go, I feel that I still need to go but I can't. I was researching about this topic, I didn't really find what I was looking for, but I read that having a tablespoon of olive oil on an empty stomach is supposed to help in this kind of situation. So ive been doing it for 3 days, but have had no success. Does anybody have any input? Thanks.

I really think you should talk to your doctor. Especially if this has been happening for a long time.

Same thing with me (though I do drink coffee so that's probably got something to do with it). I read somewhere that some people do naturally only need to go once every 3 or 4 days.

Would be interested to hear responses.

Have you just recently changed your diet? Maybe your body is just adjusting to it.

When I first started my diet, I had a lot of digestive issues. My body was trying to adjust to the new nutrition so at first I had diarrhea and later it was constipation. It finally cleared up and all is regular. I'm taking probiotics though. I do suggest you see a doctor because mine was never that extreme. I never went more than 3 or 4 days without going to the bathroom. Hope everything clears up for you.

Probiotics helped me with my stomach growling (loud) all the time. The growling was getting embarrassing, I only used them one month (expensive). I have had trouble with constipation since I was in my late 30's and my doctor wanted to keep me on laxatives (don't remember the name), but it used to be a prescription drug, now you can get it over the counter at any drug store. I used one bottle and stopped, I don't like taking a lot of junk. I could tell you what I did, but it may be against the rules!! But ones (Individual wrapped prunes) and Fiber wafers are very good for constipation. (cinnamon Spice and apple flavors, taste like a cookie). I still have problems with constipation at times, but not as bad. Try working kale, spinach and other greens in your diet, and beans......Good for you heart!!!! lol, lol, lol....

I went to see my doctor today. She perscribed something called sodak (i think). Anyways, she also told me to go make some blood tests so im gonna go do that wednesday. Hope I don't have to keep taking the pills though, I don't want to become dependant on them.
