'ello 'ello :)

Hi everyone! I am new here. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am 23 about to be 24 on March 13th actually and I am 5 foot 8 at 165lbs. I have been wanting to loose weight for a long time now even before I got married a year and a half ago and I just never really did it. I have tried on and off but I just couldn't find my push into it. I need support and a drive. I know that this site will def help me there. I just get bored of doing the same old boring stuff and I want some flavor that is interesting and fun to a workout. I am actually interested in Pilates and I was thinking about that.

Welcome

Hello Missy and welcome to the site. I am also a PA. resident. As far as your exercise goes, do you plan on going to a gym or workout at home. If you are working out at home what do you have for exercise equipment ? I guess those are a couple of questions we need to know, then we can maybe help you come up with a game plan. Again, welcome.

Hi jpc

I like to exercise at home. I just do about 50 crunches or until I feel that I can't do anymore and I feel it. I have this rope that is elastic with handles that I use to work my arms, butt, and thighs. That is the only equipment I have.

Home workout

If you enjoy working out at home, Then I personally would suggest, buying some dumbbells. Weight training will give you the most "bang for your buck." Also a stability ball or weight bench would be beneficial. You mentioned Pilates, I am assuming you would buy pilates videos and do it at home. Pilates is an effective workout. There are many different exercises you can do with dumbbells and the bench/stablity ball. Add pilates to that and I think you'll have enough variety not to get bored. There are also many other cardio/exercise videos out there. Also, your diet is key in helping to achieve your weight loss goals. Drink lots of water, also. :) If you are new to weight training and pilates, remember to start out slowly and gradually build up your intensity.
