Weight-Loss Elliptical Trainer/Treadmill Challenge....any takers?!

Hey everyone! My name is Pamela, but most call me Pam or Pammie. I bought a elliptical trainer & and started walking on the treadmill machine a few months ago and went from 205lbs to 167.4lbs from just those 2 things and weight lifting.

So, I was hoping to start a challenge. From May 14th to June 14 lets see how much weight we lose from our elliptical trainers/treadmills without jumping on the scale. No looking at the scale period for a whole month. The one who loses the most weight wins.

So...any takers?
 
Im in, i normally do elliptical and running 5 times a week on my gym so im deff up for it....

My starting weight this morning was 270.0, i weight myself every day, but im going to do this, at least ill try!! LOL!!

SO i won't be tempted to jump on the scale.

I am trying to get back to my daily treadmill jog/walk/crawl:eek: .
 
I'm definitely up for that!! I will have to start today though, I did elliptical and I weighed myself. So I promise I won't weigh myself again until the specified date. I will have to switch off treadmill with jogging/running sometimes b/c I'm in the Air Force and have to run with the squadron some. But I'm looking forward to this, good luck you guys!!

alright! I am glad that you all have joined. I weighed myself on the 14th and I am/was 164.8lbs!

Well, Already I did 40 minutes of walking/jogging with a 5% incline and
40 minutes of the elliptical. but the day isn't over yet! Post what you've done for today!
 
I did 30 mins on the elliptical...burned 280 cals. That's all I will be able to get in today unfortunately. :(

Pam- You're doing awesome! Keep up the great work! Do you work or are you a stay at home mom/housewife?
 
I love the elliptical. When I was really lean, I did it almost 5 times a week. I love it!!! You get a really good workout on it (and I prefer it to running)
 
Ok i did 40 min jog yesterday (16 May) and today (17 May). I want to do this at least 5x a week. I love treadmill! Cos I am too scared to run outside. Weird ppl around and crazy weather.:rotflmao:
 
Okay, here is what I did today:

Treadmill: Walk/jogging--52 minutes: Burned 436.8 calories
Elliptical: 61 minutes. Burned: 768.6 calories

Total minutes: 113 minutes
Total calories burned: 1205.4 calories

I am a stay at home mom, but on the side I am a sub-custodian at an elementry and trust me, that is a workout and a half!

By the way: All of you are doing fantastic! Keep it going!
 
Well, i always do the same cardio routine...
eliptical: 15 mins full pace, 3 mins cool down : 280 cal
runing: 15 mins full pace 4.5mph 3 mins cool down:275 cal

555 calories burned per day 5 times a week

what do you guys think?? i always do weights before my cardio, i could prob do more cardio but i dont want to push it too much so i can be consistent always.. should i do more??
 
BiggiePR---Well I'm definitely no expert but I think you are doing plenty with the 555 cals five times a week. As long as you're careful to not overdue it I'm sure you could do more if you want, but I think you're doing great as it is! :)
 
BiggiePR- What I usually do is get on the elliptical for 30 minutes, lift weights and then get back on the elliptical. but the way your doing it sounds good too. As long as you are working out, your doing great!
 
Well i do the weights routines first cause if i get on the cardo first then i dont have the same strenght to hit the weights, i do hard weights, so i ned the strenght, i can be on the elliptical all day if i want, the max in the ones i use is 1 hour but it gets boring to be there for that long period of time, but ill see, i think im going to step it up a little and see what hapens, ill start today with 20 plus 5 cool down on both the elliptical and running on the threadmill. okay, here are my add ups for the day!

Treadmill: Walk/jogging--: 27 minutes--burned 193.2 calories
Elliptical: 160 minutes--: Burned 2094 calories

Total minutes: 183 minutes
Total calories burned: 2242.8calories
 
Pam- WOW!! That is a tremendous amount of calories burned!! Shesh I think I would die if I had to do that much! haha...I did force myself to get up at 5:15 so I could go to the gym this morning before work, go me. :) I will post what I do later on. As for yesterday here are my stats: 45 min cycling during squadron PT (not sure how many cals burned). I have to be careful tonight though b/c I'm going out to eat with friends...yikes! Wish me luck!
 
Am I Too Late?????

perfect timing!! yesterday i decided to start up my weight loss efforts again, and decided NOT to weigh myself this time around. so can i jump in?? i'm a couple of days late, but no worries. i actually weighed myself a few days ago... weighed in at 179. today i walked for 45 mins. i'm soooooo ready for this!!!
 
Didn't do the treadmill on Sat n Sun cos I dun work on weekends (the gym is at the office).

So I walked for abt an hour round the park opp my house on both days .
Will go on the treadmill after work today. I can't do it before work this whole week because I need to be early at work. Some major meeting happening this week. Hope I stay motivated when 530pm comes!:jump:
 
Hey everyone!

I only got to go on the elliptical today for 30 minutes...which really sucks since I was on vacation and the gym there had a daycare. I acutally went looking for condo's up in cocoa beach. I recently broke up with my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years and decided to get far away from him as possiable! SO I went looking. Found some I liked, but not that great!
 
Rested yesterday.
Today got in 40 min of treadmill and elliptical.
But I didn't put much effort into it. Didn't feel well.
Usually I wld be perspiring like crazy but didn't happen today. Oh well tmr wld be a better day.
