I've started on a test diet of eating an egg every morning for breakfast. The old story about eggs was that you shouldn't eat lots of them because of cholesterol. Now people say that they have good cholesterol and are really healthy and it's good to eat an egg every day. Is this true? Or is it risking my health and the amount of fat on my body to eat an egg everyday for breakfast? I will still go on with this diet test for about 2 weeks, I just want some other opinions
All I know about eggs is that they are good for gaining weight. I have a nephew who eats hard boiled eggs (2-3 eggs) everyday. He said it's good for the development of his muscle.
How come? A (whole) egg has 70 kcal each. Eating 3 or even 4 is barely about 210 or 280 calories, along with a nice 18 or 24 grams of protein, respectively.
They can be EXTREMELY filling, mind you. I challenge you to eat more than 3 in one sitting! They are good for losing weight because they are relatively low on calories and, as I said, extremely filling.
Now, what you have to be mindful is the stuff you add to them, since that can add calories quickly. Oil and stuff, etc. But if you make them hard-boiled (I.e: you don't cook them on oil, add only salt), they are actually pretty good for satiety.
Remember that it's total calories that count, not the types of food.
