Weight-Loss Egg Beaters VS Egg Whites

Weight-Loss
Hi everyone,

Does anyone know which is better, Egg Beaters or just plain egg whites? The nutritional information is very similar on both, but I wanted to ask here to see if anyone had any other additional information or ideas about which (if either one) is any better than the other.

bren :)

peronally i just go with egg whites...much cheaper for me...i buy a carton of two and a half dozen eggs for about 7 dollars.

Eggbeaters is egg whites with some yellow coloring that have been pasteurized supposedly. Most stores sell some that aren't colored so they are cheaper.

There's no difference nutritionally - but it's whether you want the 'extras' in the egg beaters product...

The only way I find egg beaters products edible are in the ziplock bag omelette - thy leave a film in the pan otherwise that requires brillo pads to clean

oh i LOVE egg beaters! I have them most mornings in either a pita pocket w/ greenpepers, onion and a bit of fat free cheese. OR, like today, make a quiche out of them...i mix reg. egg beaters w/ southwestern egg beaters, add mushrooms and spinache, fat free sourcream and ff. motz. cheese...it is sooo low in cals and super yummy!! (i can give you the recipe if you want)

I wanted to add, that I use egg whites to coat my homemade french fries with. It makes the potatoes really crunchy like reg. fries!

You are suppose to eat the whole egg! Good fats and alot of healthy nutrients and protein are in the yolk. I wrote a good article you can read here about eating whole eggs:
