Sport Eating too much meat

Sport Fitness
Is it possible and would I qualify?

I probably eat about 12 ounces a day. Mostly a mix of steak and chicken. I ask because I would like to eat more but I'm not sure how healthy it would be. I lift hard 5 days a week so my body needs the protein. Eat plenty of complex carbs, vege's, and drink about 18-20 cups of water a day.

don't see why it would be a problem. If you're worried about protein and kidney damage, all the studies I've ever been handed as "evidence" for that was done on people who already had some kind of kidney dysfunction.. eat up!

12 oz of meat is nothing and won't do anything. I come close to that for each of my meals during the day.

12 oz a day or each meal? If it's a day, that is barely enough. If you are concern about how "bad" red meat is for you, try chicken or fish (especially salom) or take some protein shake or cheese. In term of protein, the recommendation is 1g of protein per lb of bodymass.

Definitely not too much. Just make sure it's healthy meats like chicken, fish, lean cuts of beef (sirloin, ny strip, top round), or ham.

FYI: 1lb. lean ground beef(93/7 or leaner) contains around the same amount of fat as ground turkey/chicken but with more flavor and protein. just my 2 cents.

Dude... you're fine. It seems like you eat balanced meals and drink enough fluids... yeah... don't see anything wrong here.

Now excuse me as I'm about to try some medium-rare steak for the first time (medium-welldone is my preference).

Cheers.
