Hi, I try to eat healthy but I am just eating way to much... I dont need to lose weight. I'm 165cm and weight 57kgs. I just need to tone up. I also work out 5 times a week.

Today I ate:

Bowl of muesli with skim milk
White bread roll
Banana
2 pieces of toast with butter and 3 eggs
Stir fry with steak and rice
Bowl of Muesli

So I just want some opinions on if its ok to eat healthy but just to much.

It's hard to tell what's what without the serving sizes. Stir fry can be very healthy, or very unhealthy. A lot depends on the oil, steak, vegetables, and of course the sodium. When I order from the local place, what they usually give as just rice is closer to three or four servings.

What makes something healthy or not is very often the amount, so if you really want to eat a large volume of food, stick with foods that have a larger serving size.

If you're not overweight, I'd say you're probably not eating too much.

Based upon what you reported eating today, it doesn't sound like that much to me, unless that stir fry was a massive portion.

Hows this diet look.for you.

Breakfast
1 cup oatmeal dry or 15 oz of white potatos
3 eggs

Lunch 1 bag of steamed birdseye vegetables
1 8 oz top sirloin steak
salad

Dinner-
3 eggs, 4 oz of ground beef, 1 bag of birdseye steamed vegatables
1 large spinach salad

Are you counting calories? Do you know how many calories you should be taking in? If not it is impossible to determine if you are eating too much.

Keep in mind not all healthy foods are low calorie and not all unhealthy foods are high calorie. For example a person could eat 50 cups of lettuce and and it would only be around 1000 calories, you'd definitely be eating too much but you wouldn't be taking in too many calories. The point being it is tough to judge how many calories you consume unless you count, guessing or using your eyes as a way to measure isn't a good method.

if you are not gaining weight, then why do you think you are eating too much? if a person is eating healthy and maintaining a healthy weight, i would call that eating too much.

I would say up the protein, as you say you don't want to lose weight you want to 'tone up'. Toning does not exist, what you want to do is get leaner, so you have less fat and your muscles are more defined.

If I were you I would ditch the white bread roll, and instead use pita bread, wholemeal bread or a wholemeal wrap. Much better for you as white bread is heavily processed.

The eggs are a good source of protein, how are you cooking them? Boiled or poached is the most healthy. Maybe cut back to one slice of bread, and make it wholemeal. You could probably skip the butter all together.

Make sure your serving sizes are correct with the muesli, a serving is only 1/3 of a cup. Its so easy to fill the bowl up though.

With the stir fry, adding vegetables instead of rice will do wonders, and will increase your veggie intake.

You could probably add in another snack in there, maybe an apple or a yoghurt? Tin of tuna or a slice of cheese?

Even if you're not looking to lose weight, a healthy diet can be super beneficial for you in the long term :) You should try to opt for wholegrain/wholemeal/brown bread whenever possible, as it has a lower GI than white bread. They'll keep you satisfied for longer and are also the healthier option. And pretty pretty please.. eat some more fruit and vegetables! The protein you're getting is great but your body needs a nice variety.

(FYI- white bread is processed in your body the same way as sugar)
