Sport Eating dilema

Sport Fitness
I'm planning to go for a 45 minute run after work tonight and should probably be able to do it around 7pm. The problem is that it is just about time for my meal number 5 (7.30). Which option is better:

- To run on 'empty'
- Eat and then run in 30 minutes (Can't leave it too late as it's getting dark outside)
- Delay my meal 4 by half an hour and have meal 5 straight after I come back from my run

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks.

hello

Personally, I would run on empty and eat when I got back - you'll only be eating 15 minutes late from what you say in your post. 30 minutes at most if you have to cook it too.

I wouldn't worry to much about eating every 3 hours exactly! Try to use it as more of a guideline. I usually eat anywhere between 2 and a half to 3 and a half hours apart. This gives me an hour to play with which usually isn't a problem. However, if something came up and I couldn't eat for over 4 hours, I still wouldn't worry about it too much.

This hasn't caused me any problems with making progress either. Hope it helps.
