Sport Eating Clean problem

Sport Fitness
OK, I totally don't mean this as a joke, I'm dead serious....

I have been "eating clean" for a few weeks now. With my new diet I have gotten rid of simple starches and refined sugars for more fruits and vegetables, whole grains etc. This leads to a lot more fiber consumption which is a good thing, but how long will it take my body to get used to all this fiber? I'm contemplating using my kids' diaper rash cream!

How much fiber are we talking a day?

Got a link to fitday? Or can you post what you eat?

I seem to be hitting right at the recommended amount. I eat 4000 calories a day (believe it or not I'm cutting at that amount-I do a ton of cardio) and I get around 60 grams a day.....although looking back I saw a couple days that I got a lot more ( I got 98 one day) Maybe I need to cut down on the wraps I use They have 9 grams a piece.

I occasionally eat a "Kashi GoLean Roll" especially when cycling and food options are few. They contain soy. Other than that my flax cereal says it "may contain trace amounts of soy"

The only other things I really eat are meats, whole grain bread, fruits and vegetables, nuts, 1% milk (my milk consumption hasn't changed)

I eat around 60g of fiber per day and have no probs, just very regular. I'd say the average person doesn't get nearly enough.

No soy in the wraps.

I was doing a little research and I keep seeing articles about allergies to nuts and related digestive problems. I've been eating a lot of almonds and cashews for an easy slug of calories and healthy fats. I'm going to cut that out and see what happens

Good idea.

Especially if the nuts are roasted at all. And especially if they are roasted in an oil they can be hard to digest. That's why sometimes peanut butter makes me feel funny.

The almonds are plain, but the cashews are roasted with peanut oil. I rinse them to remove some of the salt, but I'm sure a lot of peanut oil remains.

I'm going to cut out both to be safe

I'd say its the nuts. Raw or roasted the same thing happens to me. I also have trouble with the wraps. Can you add in olive oil, avocado or olives? Milled flax seeds work as well...but I think you have to blend them to break them in order for them to be absorbed

Thanks for the suggestions. I already feel better not having any nuts today. I have some olive oil and I love avocados. I also have some smartbalance, but for my needs it has too little of a caloric punch with too much saturated fat.

I'm so paranoid about losing muscle while I cut that I try to be right on my caloric goals. I never thought I'd have trouble getting enough calories, but with this eating clean I'll look at FitDay and think "damn, I need to eat!"

It was easy getting all my cals with Chipotle and Wendy's, but I prefer to see my kids grow up LOL
