Sport Eat the whole egg or just the white?

Sport Fitness
I am trying to gain muscle mass (currently 6'6 and weight 195). I am eating very healthy, lots of vegi's, 210 grams of protien a day, low sugar, etc.

I have just been eating egg whites, but someone said I should just eat the whole egg given my goal of gaining muscle mass.

So what should I do?

Eat 2 egg whites instead of 1 whole egg

or

1 whole egg instead of 2 egg whites?

The whites are where the protein is. Persoanlly I eat one whole egg and three whites in the morning. Then all whites the rest of the day.

Most people will tell you to be careful because the yolk contains cholesterol. If that is a concern for you, eat less yolk more white...hope this helps.

BOTH the yolk and the white contain protein. the yolk also contains fat and cholesterol...but not a ton.

and furthermore, they are finding that the lecithin in the egg whites has a counter effect on the cholestrol.

Like Moonbeam, I go for the best of both worlds...5-6 eggs in the morning, but only 2-3 yolks get used. So I get normal consistency/flavored eggs, but not as much fat or cholesterol.

You have to first figure out what your macro requirement is for your goal and then create a diet from that. If the fat/protein of the yolk fit into your requirement, then it's fine.

One average size egg white has 16 calories and 3g of protein.
