Weight-Loss Eat lots of fruits and vegetables

Weight-Loss
Hi,
You should eat lots of fruits and vegetables everyday as they are rich in fibre and with low calorie.

What are your thoughts on protein and EFAs?

I thought the sugar in fruits wasnt as bad for you as the processed sugar you get in ready made food and such...

Most don't eat enough fruit as is. Saying things like this only makes it worse.

steve this is a forum full of opinion, if you don't like the opinion so be it...but learn to control your mouth....you obviously only like your opinion, that aint half obvious...

Waaa!

Cry me a river.

You really nailed it on the head with me. I just like to yap, hear myself speak.

Let me make a public service announcement for those who are reading this:

Most of what I say is bogus. You should not listen to me because in reality, I have no freaking clue what I am talking about when it comes to fitness and/or nutrition.

Your best bet, and I mean this with all sincerity.... is to listen to Keengirl.

Thanks for the heads up Steve :D

Keengirl, I am currently in a long cutting cycle and I want to reduce 3-4% BF by the end of may, yet retain my current muscle mass. My question is, what should my macro breakdown be to optimize this process and are fruits ok while cutting? Thank you in advance for your time.

Steve, you should realize by now that a balanced diet is what's best:
1 piece of fruit, 1 candy bar, 1 hot dog, 1 pizza, 1 bowl of sweetened cereal, 2 pieces of Wonder Bread, and 1 gallon of Coke.

You actually have to eat the cereal with Coke poured over it to get the full effect.

While there is a lot of opinion, opinion is not what gets life long results. Sure someones opinion is good for certain situations, but when it comes to health and fitness, people can hurt or seriously stressed. If you like to make opinions, please head over to the "off topic" section and post there. :)

Gents - I'm all for forum tangents and keeping things entertaining and having fun - cuz if we're not having fun there's really no point... but instead of pig piling on Keengirl - why not give some explanations as to why her assertation isn't correct.

thanks

My only reason to reply the way that I did was the simple fact that I did not appreciate the way she called out my persona. I spend a great deal of time helping people on here, who is she to say ANYTHING? That said, freedom of speech is a beautiful thing, so no harm done. Just be prepared for the same level of respect in return. ;)

Regarding her comment about fruit. Too much of anything will make you fat. Sugar does not make you fat. Energy makes you fat.

Fructose is the sugar found in fruit. There are some differences between how this form of carbohydrate is utilized by the body when compared to other forms of carbohydrates. However, when you look at the nuts and bolts, this form of sugar is no worse for you than others.

I my experience, and based on some research, you could get away with eating 5 pieces of fruit per day. Most people who I know, don't consume anywhere near this level of fruit each and every day.

The problem with statements like hers is simple. Most people are trying to sift through all the bogus info out there as is. When she says things like fruits make you fat.... all it takes is just one person to limit their fruit intake and become deficient in the abundant nutrients and health benefits that fruits provide to make me mad.

I did not even go into the benefits of having fruit in your diet while in a caloric deficit. No need to. Just wanted to clarify why I "behaved" the way I did.

Why do you always have to be so....right. :)
