Durable running shoes.

I apologize if this question has been asked before but I am new to this forum. I owned a REAL old pair of New Balance running shoes the lasted nearly forever. The new pair of NB's are of low quality and started falling apart within a month. I've heard that Brooks makes a decent product but would appreciate any input about different brands before I buy another shoe. I am willing to spend $$ to get quality. Thanks in advance.

I got Asics Gel GT-2100 4 months back. I found it very good for running. A bit expensive though.

My old NB's lasted for ever and a half as well, thats funny that they seem to have gone in the ****ter. I got a pair of Nike Max Air 180's a week ago that I absolutely love. I cant comment on durability, but for cushion and how well they fit, they get a 10. Not to mention they are black and silver.... very sexy.

ok hate to advertise, but i go to holabirdsports.com
i go under mens, running, then look at new balances.
there are a crap load of good running shoes on there for an ok price. i j ust got a pair of NB1000's n there pretty decent.

I vote for the Asics GT-2100s series. They're a good value, are comfortable to wear, are light, and fairly long-lasting. At the shoe store, Brooks were my second choice in terms of comfort.

I would suggest going to a running store and getting fitted. Ascis may be nice, but they may not be for your stride type. I've got a pair of Brooks that have served me well, but ATM I only run 2-3 miles a day.

I buy new running shoes every 6-8 months, so I'm a little off on this question. But my old shoes become yard shoes and I can say my addidas have always been awesome yard shoes. ;)

Seriously, running shoes should not be worn for a year an a half if you are actually running in them.

Oh, they may look ok, but you will beat the poo out of your feet and joints. They say you should replace your shoes between 350 and 500 miles (if you run only 3 miles a day, you should start checking your shoes in less than 4 months)

But that wasn't your question, I wear Asics but a style that corrects under-pronating, which may not be appropriate for you. The shoes are quality made and stilllook good when they are worn out.

Here's a good guide to buying the correct running shoes for your feet:
