Sport Drinks and sauces question

Sport Fitness
Hey all once again ive got another question lol.

Firstly drinks... What drinks are ok to drink on a cutting diet?, I mean is there anything other than water and shakes?, can you add a bit of juice from time to time to the water, I am completely against most fizzy pops as I know how bad they actually are. What about alcohol i'm guessing its a no-no ?

Secondly ive recently started my diet and realised that a lot of the food in my diet is really plain tasting...

egg whites mixed with bran
steamed chicked
tuna

Can I add sauces to some stuff, is ketchup a bad thing? etc etc this is why i'd love to know your guys diets perhaps.

Thanks again all. :)

I drink mostly water. I'll have an occasional diet pop (yeah, we call it pop here, damnit!) or sugarless "flavored water"

I also drink lots of 1% milk

Most ketchup contains corn syrup which I would avoid. Some sauces may have an ok fat/carb content, but most have huge amounts of sodium. If a recipe calls for ketchup I use plain tomato sauce.

You can branch out a little from the foods you listed. Hell, sometimes I have spaghetti (whole wheat noodles, 96% lean beef and homemade sauce with no added sugar or salt and just a bit of olive oil) If you want store bought sauce I found Bove's brand to be pretty solid. Mix it up a bit. It can take a little extra math and ingenuity to figure up your calories, but its worth it sometimes to have something different.

Hey thanks lads, currently have heinz in and your right no bad ingrediants and is low in the cals. As for drinks I used to love tea, never tried green tea, but I like juice such as robinsons. Not to fond of the fizzy.

Ive been having 2 shakes a day so far in this diet because I can't find many interesting foods to eat also.

Try mustard or wasabi instead of the catsup, low cals lots of taste. Also spices are a great alternative to sauces, big taste small cals and I'd say better for you. Try: pepper, sesame seeds, cumin, basil, fennel seeds, corriander, tumeric, cinnamon, the list goes on and on. Black coffee also helped me a lot when I was cutting and green tea rocks. If you can't do w/out soda, try soda water with a piece of lemon squeezed into it and maybe some splenda.
