So I looked into the Cohen plan, and decided to send in my registration information, but apparently I do not qualify. I was kind of excited at the prospect of this plan after I read about it... but I guess it proves this is a real plan if they'll turn down me and my money!

Any ideas why I might not qualify? Just curious... Could it be medication I am currently on? Oh well!

It might very well be location... Most of the Cohen's people are in Australia... Does he have offices where you are located?

Maybe...

From the web site it looks like people in the US that are on the plan do it through local labs for the blood work, and everything else in the program is online. I actually know one person that lives the next town over that just completed her cycle with Cohen... So I don't think that's it... But I really don't know!

I agree with Mal, it's only speculation unless you ask them. There are lots of people in the US who are on or have done the program so it shouldn't be a location problem. A friend of mine in Aus was rejected because she is on medication. I think it's Warfuren that excluded her from the program. She has lots of medical problems & is on lots of different medications. I saw her recently & she has lost some weight by cutting down her carbs & walking. She looks much healthier. She was really upset at first when she was rejected but felt better when she knew why, then said "oh well" as you did & followed another path. All the best with yours, cheers, Cate.

I agree - you should call and check again because there should not be a reason they reject you if they havent even tested your blood! I know that they dont reccomend it for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have some other medical problems.

No.. on the US web program (I'm on it) they can reject you based on:

  • Age
  • Medications
  • Health Conditions
  • Mental Health
  • Weight to lose (too few)

Many US people are also rejected after the 1st blood test for:

  • Elevated Liver Enzymes
  • Diabetes or Blood Sugar Levels

Even with these, some people have gotten onto the program with a letter from their Doctor.

Best of luck!

After some digging...

I found out I was rejected from the program because I have Long QT Syndrome. It's an uber-rare, genetic heart condition that I forget is kind of serious until people start handling me with kid-gloves!

At least the mystery is over! I just didn't think blood testing and eating based on the results would be a problem for it... I learn something new every day!
